JOHN CAMPBELL TAKES THE HELM

Aguardiente, which translates to β€œFiery Water,” has deep roots in early California and Mexican history. Often made from distilled grapes but also a generic term for pretty much any type of distilled beverage, Aguardiente was a fixture of life in early Los Angeles, where abundant agriculture allowed for local recipes to flourish. Our recipe, made with both smoked and roasted corn along with malted rye, pays tribute to Alta California’s Original Spirit.

The Big Cockerel is here.

THE ORIGINAL

It wasn’t that long ago that California was a sparse patchwork of Rancheros, mesquite-dotted high desert and mining towns.

Our pioneering, Southwestern recipe pays tribute to this westernmost frontier with a bourbon that captures the land’s original, rustic heart.

WARMASTER EDITION

Among the greatest heavyweight fighters of all time, known for his raw power, intelligence and grit in the ring, Josh β€œWarmaster” Barnett channels that same intensity into crafting a bold, uncageable bourbon.

Each bottle reflects his relentless spiritβ€”and his profound passion for all things whiskey β€” with a rare, genuinely crafted, small-batch bourbon worthy of the Warmaster name.

COWBOY EDITION

Hall of Fame fighter "Cowboy" brings his legendary toughness and adventurous spirit to bourbon-making. With a daring, rich flavor that reflects his Southwestern roots and β€œlive a life worth living,” ethos, this hand-crafted bourbon is a whole lotta BMF in one bottle, perfect for those who live life on their own terms.

At the heart of every bottle of Warbringer Bourbon lies the magnificent mesquite. Our recipe starts at the smoke box, with careful burning of mesquite wood from Texas. Inside our custom-built smoking chambers, racks of double-cracked flaking grits corn are immersed for multiple days in cold, clean unadulterated mesquite smoke.

BY HAND. FROM SCRATCH. WITH SMOKE

MESQUITE & GRITS

The majority of Warbringer’s mash bill - 65% to be exact - is double-cracked flaking grits corn, which is smoked with mesquite for a deep and smoky taste unlike any other.

MORE CORN, MORE FIRE

In addition to smoked corn, we use corn slowly toasted in an old steel drum that rotates over an open flame. The toasting carmelizes sugars in the corn and adds to Warbringer’s signature rich, indulgent taste.

HIGH CORN, MEET HIGH RYE

After being milled to a fine powder (to unlock the starches and sugars for the yeast to feast on), the corn and rye are combined in a single, highly unique mixture that will become Warbringer.

THERE’S SOMETHING IN THE AIR

With open-top, cypress wood fermentation tanks, the natural air at our distillery - which sits between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains - becomes an integral part of the Warbringer recipe.
